Nine faculty members from the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering have been named recipients of the 2022 IU Trustees Teaching Award, which honors faculty members who have made a positive impact on learning through the direct teaching of students.
“The faculty at the Luddy School are dedicated to providing the skills needed to lead technology into tomorrow, but knowledge is only one part of the equation," said Dennis Groth, interim dean of the Luddy School. “The best educators know that presenting knowledge in a way that connects with students and allows them to quickly absorb and understand the material is critical to the students’ confidence. We’re tremendously proud that this year’s Trustees Teaching award recipients exemplify that trait for their pupils.”
The honorees include Professor of Informatics Eli Blevis, Professor of Information Science Pnina Fichman, Assistant Professor of Intelligent Systems Engineering Gregory Lewis, Lecturer Chase McCoy, Professor Jeremy Siek, Professor Katie Siek, Lecturer Younei Soe, Assistant Professor of Computer Science Zoran Tiganj, and Senior Lecturer Erik Wennstrom.
Department chairs and deans identify candidates for the award. Faculty selected for the Trustees Teaching Award will receive a monetary award and will be honored at a reception in the fall.
